The Week Ahead: July 7, 2025. Palantir
Today the market reacted unpleasantly to Trump’s reinstatement of tariffs. The market was down in the S&P 500 almost everywhere except consumer staples, military-industrials, Uber, and Palantir.
As the market may be going down temporarily, I’ve pulled out of my shorter-term trades to prepare for a larger down move, which may or may not come. With every market crash comes opportunity, and I’ve raised enough cash to really start buying when the buying is good. Of course, I’m still balancing it by holding all my longer-term plays, including leaps on Palantir (PLTR) and Nvidia (NVDA).
Palantir did very nicely for me today and balanced out the fall in the rest of my portfolio. PLTR does seem strong, so I bought another chunk of stock. But, it might end up moving inversely with the rest of the market, so, if we have an up day tomorrow, Palantir might be one of the few to pull back.
Market Forecast (Emily’s Best Guess)
Short-Term (Rest of the Week): Choppy
Intermediate-Term (3rd Quarter): Choppy. Maybe down, then up
Long-Term (4th Quarter): Down in October, then up in November-December
